The SSL/TLS is a standard communication protocol used to ensure that transfer of data over network is safe. Now, a secured web page has to general indications:
First. Web pages usually start with the letters “http.” A secure site begins with “https” — take note that there is an additional “s” letter in the end. This means that the user name and password you will enter will be encrypted before it will be processed and send to the server.
Second. A secure Web page has a “lock” icon displayed at the bottom of the browser window. Internet Explorer displays the icon in the lower right, while FireFox displays it in the lower left.
